What is Hometown Connect?
At Hometown Connect, we believe the key to building stronger rural communities is bringing together people both in and from their hometowns to create educational opportunity, building a strong local economy, and fostering civic engagement.
For the past two years, we’ve come together to do something about the struggles we’ve been witnessing and experiencing in our rural areas. And our connection to our small towns, despite our current place on the map, fuels our desire to see our hometowns thrive.
Why Become a Member?
We’re a hometown association and we want all who call the Egyptian School district home to be able to support efforts to help our hometowns thrive. We are a membership organization because we want everything Hometown Connect does to be led by and inspired by the community that calls the Egyptian School District home. We hope you’ll join us.
As a member you’ll be investing in efforts to support and improve our hometowns. Members will be able to decide on the future direction of Hometown Connect, vote for and run for board positions and propose new projects for us to take on.
Who can Become a Member?
We’re opening membership to all who call our school district home. You can still be living in one of our hometowns or have moved away. Anyone who is from or currently lives or works in Tamms, Olive Branch, Sandusky, Hodges Park, Unity, Thebes, Elco or Miller City can become a member. Membership is $20 year and $10 per year for students.
How do I Become a Member?
